And for premium sound, nothing beats the wet powder coating on the woofer. MB QUART pioneered the use of the wet powder coating (WPC) in their Q-Line mobile loudspeakers. This technique was developed by the Atomic Research facility in Jlich, Germany. It is a deposition process that applies a thin coating of metal to another surface. In their application of this technology, extremely fine and absolutely pure titanium powder is applied to the polypropylene cones. This results in an increase to the cone's strength-to-weight-ratio as well as in the reduction of unwanted out-of-bandwidth harmonics and acoustical distortion.
